PTSD - WEAPONS OF WARFARE

PTSD is generally associated with military personnel, due to the unique and traumatic experiences that they face during warfare.

Warfare exposures you to life-threatening situations, horrifying events, traumatic encounters, gross deception, mistreatment, along with the added risk of death or injury, and any of these can easily serve as a trigger for PTSD.

PTSD can have some lasting effects on a person, ranging from affecting their ability to function in daily life, maintaining relationships, to normal coping mechanisms involving emotional and psychological situations.

The history of what is known as PTSD often references combat, but exposure to any kind of traumatic experience can have lasting effects.

It has been concluded that PTSD is not just a veteran’s issue, it is a trauma disorder that affects millions of people from all walks of life.

PTSD is a mental health condition that can affect any one of us.

It can be caused by an accident, incident, crime, violation, abuse, assault, accusation, misjustice, injustice, or any type of harrowing experience.

Last time I noted that the Physical/Clinical, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is due to a Spiritual Dilemma, Post Traumatic Sin Disorder.

Because Sin was the original Stressor.

Mankind did not know Stress, until Sin was introduced.

The Hebrew word for Sin is Chata, which has nothing at all to do with religion. Chata refers to fulfilling a goal.

Gods goal then, and has always been for us to have Peace, not Stress!

Sin caused us to not fulfil Gods goal for our life.

Sin affects our Mental Health more than anything else! Sin is simply the act of separation from God. Which can produce “Separation Anxiety”

Sin/Separation takes place whenever someone believes a Lie about God. This opens the door to trust issues. Which separates us from The Truth.

TRUst and TRUth both begin with being TRU! So Just Be TRUE!

In most cases, Trust issues develop early in a relationship. In the case of humanity, it was during the early days of our relationship with God.

Since that incident in the Garden of Eden man has been skeptical of each other, community, other relationships, and most assuredly, God.

Based upon the Genesis account, I observed 4 key feverous symptoms that resulted from the Sin Lie that was told to the first believers.

The Sin Lie produced offspring which are called Fears. A Lie will always make you fearful of something. Usually the TRUTH.

Today we’ll look at the oldest and strongest Fear/symptom of PTSD

Here is a depiction of an interaction that was recorded in Genesis 3:1.

The newlywed bride Eve was engaged in a conversation with a stranger. Although she didn’t know him by name, he didn’t seem out of place, he blended in with the environment. He looked like he belonged there.

Sin will not appear to be out of place. It will blend into the surroundings.

It was presented as something to consider, Did God really say you can’t have... that? It’s just…food, what could possibly be the harm in …that?

A Lie, wont usually present itself as a question of truth or untruth. It’s subtle. It simply asks you to be willing to consider another possibility. It’s just “Something for entertainment purposes.” It won’t kill you!

But make no mistake about it, it is still a Lie. If you receive it, you will break out in a fever of Fear. And yes, a Lie/Fever can kill you.

The oldest known Fear to mankind is the Fear of Believing.

The subtle stranger planted that seed right in the middle of Eve’s heart, and maybe, just maybe, he’s planted some seeds in our hearts as well.

What is it, that God told you, that you are afraid to Believe him for?

Who posed an alternative suggestion, that was different from what you had in your Spirit?

Who said, this isn’t that different? Harmful? Addictive? Or Dangerous?

Be mindful of that first offspring of the Sin Lie, the Fear of Believing. It can be very seductive and convincing! Remember, it’s subtle.

The odd thing about Fear is that it makes you susceptible to it.

The more you give into it, the more territory it will demand.

It falls under the Law of Attraction. Fear attracts what you are afraid of. It captivates your focus. Fear gives birth to more Fear. Fear adds Stress.

Maybe that’s why God says not to fear, 365 times, once for each day!

Next time, we’ll explore the second child in the birth order of Fear.

Until then feel free to read ahead for yourself, Genesis 3:1-24

I like to say it this way “Fear is imprisonment, Faith is empowerment”

This is a Thompson Truth
