BRAIN FAITH
When some of us hear the word brain, we might automatically think of the mind. The brain is not the mind, even though they are often referenced interchangeably.
The brain is a actually a physical organ, whereas our mind and thoughts are just mental elements.
The brain controls what we think, feel, learn, remember, how we walk, talk, our heartbeat and even our digestive system.
In other words, the brain does most of the heavy lifting necessary for our daily physical living. The brain does a lot.
Although the brain is a Natural organ, it still serves as a conductor for our Spiritual energy. Yes, Faith moves through the brain.
God is the Chief Architect of both Science and Spirituality.
Faith is not as mindless as some think, rather it is very mindful. Mindful of a higher reality and nature than we can see with our natural eyes.
Faith sees what your eyes cannot. Faith believes what your mind cannot. Faith does what your intellect can’t comprehend. Faith Works, so lets work it!
Spiritual practices can influence the brain, just as well as the brain can influence spiritual practices. They are symbiotic.
Scientists have concluded that some regions in the brain are involved in our spiritual experiences. Those regions are called “God Spots”.
God Spots are regions where normal brain functions like mentioned above intertwine with our spiritual awareness and sensitivity.
Spirituality and brain functions have long been interconnected.
As a result, many have been misdiagnosed as having a Mental Illness Disorder when in fact it was a Spiritual Illness Disorder.
That’s why it’s important to know the difference between a spiritual crisis and a mental health issue.
There’s no clearer example for this type of misdiagnosis than some cases referenced in the Bible.
Several Biblical figures experienced Spiritual struggles wrapped in what would be mental health challenges.
One such patient was King Saul who had numerous events of depressive episodes and manic behavioral patterns, that would have easily gotten diagnosed as bipolar disorder.
King Saul himself knew the source of his issues were Spiritual because they began after he disobeyed God. That’s why he enlisted the services of a witch to advise him on Spiritual matters.
Here’s a hint, if you are depressed and you seek out the help of a palm reader or mystic for some assistance, maybe consider running that decision through your God Spot for a second opinion.
Several other prominent Biblical figures like King David, Moses, Jonah, Elijah, Job and Jesus would have all been labeled Schizophrenics.
For the sake of balance, it is important to note that not all mental issues are demonic in nature, some can be caused by extreme trauma.
The main point of today’s talk is to know that your brain can also help you with decisions of Faith. God created our brain and our Spirit.
We can use our faith to help with emotional regulation. Neuroscientists call it Neurotheology. I call it Brain Faith.
That could be another reason why our brains are under attack.
