RECOVERING YOUR ENCRYPTED PURPOSE

In our previous talks, we focused on Purpose, and the fact that it has been Encrypted, which is the Greek word kryptos, meaning hidden.

If our purpose is hidden, how do we access it? Therein lies the problem!

Often times, the solution to some of life's toughest problems can be surprisingly simple.

So, let’s begin by simplifying our equation.

We are being presented here with 2 distinct challenges.

1.    Where is our Purpose encrypted/hidden?

2.    What is our Purpose?

Let’s address the Encryption/Hidden part first. Where is it hidden?

To decrypt and recover your hidden purpose you must know your life’s meaning.

Many times, we misconstrue the phrase “meaning of life” by thinking that it is referring to what we want, need and desire out of life.

Some believe that if they fulfill their purpose, it will enable them to get all the things that they want and need out of this life. That is incorrect.

Your purpose has nothing to do with fulfilling your desires.

Your purpose is to complete your assignment!

This is where the encryption comes in. Our purpose is often encrypted / hidden under a misguided belief. Ignorance is Expensive!

Here are a few places where Purpose could be hiding.

Under…what someone said you should do/become. Or what you feel will be profitable. Perhaps it’s under what you think you’re good at. Here’s a common one…Maybe, I don’t have a purpose!

Could your purpose be hiding under a misguided belief you have?

To find the meaning of life, we must go back to when life first began.

Back to the beginning, before mankind was created, there was a garden.

A garden which required care and support to thrive and grow.

Up to this point everything that was made, was made from the earth. Mankind would not be an exception to this unwritten rule.

God took the life-giving skin of the earth’s surface and formed a man.

Just like the plants, trees, and animals before him, Adam too was made from the soil of the earth.

This makes for a great segway to question #2 What is our Purpose?

Adam received an assignment from God to till/tend the garden.

Purpose is about Assignment/Alignment, not Accolades/Achievement!

We were created On Purpose, For a Purpose, With a Purpose.

Purpose isn’t a vague concept it’s a Divine precept.

Hear the words from this wise Proverb, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

This is letting us know…that it matters not if we’re deep in doubt, wrestling with worry, struggling with stress, or puzzled with perplexity, …Gods Purpose will still prevail.

The Hebrew word for Purpose is ya’atz, translated, to deliver council.

Your Purpose will deliver wise council to you and others.

The ya’atz that God assigned Adam was to till the soil/ground. The Hebrew word for till is avad, which means to serve.

So then, Adam’s alignment was to give council and service to the soil.

There’s always been a special bond between Soil & Spirituality. It began when they formed Adam and he became living soil made by Spirit.  

Soil / Land has long been a metaphor for People.

Our Purpose is not self-generated it is God revealed.

We were created to live and align with Gods will. Gods purpose for us was not to chase personal ambition, but to embrace divine intention.

A simple definition for Purpose is to make a difference in the lives of others.

Too often we’ve been led to believe purpose is about accomplishments, it’s not, it’s about service. What we do for others is what matters most.

When we till the land/people we help them overturn their issues.

Purpose is helping someone grow.

Your Purpose, My Purpose will always be connected to other people. The variance comes in how we serve them.

In the book of Galatians, we are instructed to carry one another’s burdens.

In 1st Peter we’re told to use our gifts to serve others.

Purpose is about Fulfillment, and nothing brings about more fulfillment than when you help someone else.

In Ephesians it says we were created for good works and through doing them we will fulfill our design.

Find your Person/your People and you will have found your Purpose, remember they may be hiding.

Be the council you were born to be. Land needs healing now more than ever!
