THE SOUND OF FAITH

Previously we discussed how Faith has a Voice. THE VOICE OF FAITH — Benton T. Thompson III

So then, if Faith has a Voice, it must also have a Sound.

We’ve been making sounds since we were babies. But sounds don’t constitute words.

The Voice production process that turns Sounds into words has four main stages; Respiration. Phonation, Resonation, and Articulation.

Respiration relates to the power of breath. The force behind your sound.

Phonation is the source of the Word. Where you get your word from.

Resonation is about impact. It addresses the purpose of your sound.

Articulation deals with alignment. The structure of your message.

Though these are natural processes they also have heavy spiritual tones.

Faith also has a structure.

Faiths Resonation is not indecisive nor uncertain. Faith is not confused.

Faith is not negative, skeptical or doubtful. Faith doesn’t accuse.

Faith doesn’t worry. Faith doesn’t complain.

Faith doesn’t get discouraged. Faith doesn’t offer up excuses.

Faith doesn’t work off hope. In fact, Hope expects Faith to show up.

Faith doesn’t just believe, Faith knows! Faith is full of confidence.

Faiths Phonation - The Sound of Faith refers to how Faith is expressed.

Each expression of Faith is as unique as the individual expressing it.

Faith expresses both your personal conviction and your corporate agreement.

Faith is bold. Faith is daring. Some might even say Faith is “gullible”.

Faith will stand firm in the face of the unknown because Faith knows!

Is your Faith lying about you or are you lying about your Faith?

Faiths Resonation - We each have our own unique Sound of Faith. No two are alike.

Proof of this is in John 10:27; My sheep know my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”

Jesus is acknowledging that we each have a sound that he knows.

So, when one hundred sheep are moving about and He hears one in distress, He then says; that’s Benton, I know his sound, let me help him.

When I call Him, using my distinct Sound of Faith, He comes!

“In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, it was my voice that rang in his ears” Psalm 18:6

Isn’t that great news? God knows your Sound of Faith!

Just in case you’re wondering, Yes, Jesus knew your voice long before Siri, Alexis, or Gemini did! I AM will always supersede AI.

Science also confirms that no two people in the world sound the same.

Faiths Articulation - We each have our own distinct vocal fingerprints. We each have a sound that no other biological system on earth produces: a voice so individually specific, that a person who has never met you can pick yours out of a crowd after hearing it once.

Alexa may know your voice, but she doesn’t know who you are.

Most ear-witness testimonies are notoriously unreliable and inaccurate.

But Jesus is a reliable “ear witness”, he was there when we were formed.

This means I don’t have to announce myself to God when I speak with him. He already knows it’s me.

Everyone has their own unique sound, physically and spiritually, which has been shaped according to their personhood and purpose.

Your Physical anatomy: which are your vocal cords, throat, mouth, and vocal tract have been designed to create a sound that only you can make. No one else in the world can make your sound!

Even identical twins who share the same DNA do not share the same pitch and tone in their voices. There’s only one You!

As for your Spiritual anatomy: each of us was crafted with divine intentionality. Each of us has a specific call, unique design for a specific purpose.

Psalm 139:13 tells how God formed our inward parts long before he formed our outward parts, all before we were even born.

God does not speak to us through our mouth or ears; He speaks to us through our spirit commonly referred to as your conscience/inward part.

Here are three things you should do with your unique Voice of Faith

1.    Embrace Your Originality. Stop trying to copy someone else’s anointing. Stop muting your call! Be who God made You!

2.    Speak Creativity into Your World. Your Voice of Faith was designed to impact not impress. Impact Your Family, Your Community, Your Workplace, Your Region, Your World! Speak Light and Life into it! Stop speaking what the people poll says.

3.    Value Your Gift. God has given you the gift of a unique voice to go along with a unique opportunity. You have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity. No one else was assigned to the time and era that you’ve been assigned to. Use it to do good not harm. Add light and encouragement, not darkness and gloom.

No one else can love God like humanity, because we are the only ones that he created with a Voice like His.

Remember the parable of the talents and do not bury the gift that God has given you!

Use Your Sound to Bless, not to Curse!
