THE ANATOMY OF FEAR PART 2
I’m sure that I’m not the only one who has noticed how overwhelmingly popular FEAR has become in culture and media.
1 in every 8 films produced is Horror, making it the fastest-rising genre.
“Sinners” a popular horror movie made over $300 million in ticket sales.
In addition to that, the entertainment industry has also become deeply invested in Fear-based marketing on social media.
It’s called FOMO - Fear Of Missing Out, an anxiety driven campaign.
In 2026, the global media/entertainment market is projected to invest $3 trillion dollars to personalize digital content that will rely heavily upon audience anxiety to maintain a high level of continual engagement.
And there’s more, the global pharmaceutical industry in 2026 is forecasted to reach well over $23 billion for anxiety disorder treatments.
The Fear Economy has become a very lucrative business.
These trends along with countless other such initiatives are associated with the greatest level of all Fear, “The spirit of Fear”.
The feeling of Fear and the spirit of Fear are antithetically different.
Innate fear is for protection; the spirit of fear is about destruction.
Fear is an alarm in our biophysical system, which alerts us to possible danger from a perceived threat.
The spirit of Fear is not a feeling. It is a spirit. A spiritual force set on tormenting everyone it encounters.
Now before you roll your eyes, just hear me out.
What we call anxiety has been conceived by the spirit of Fear.
Anyone who has truly experienced clinical anxiety will tell you, it’s tormenting.
The spirit of Fear makes you obsessed; you become paranoid about everything and everyone. Pain shows up in Paranoia!
Many phobias can be connected to the spirit of Fear.
Fear of going outside/Agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder that brings panic and torment. The spirit of Fear
Arachnophobia/fear of spiders, Claustrophobia/fear of being closed in, Acrophobia, fear of heights. All these are tormenting fears/spirit of Fear.
There is even the fear of being without a mobile device/Nomophobia.
In many ways, fear has become so normalized we don’t recognize it.
So, we carry guns, sleep with the lights on, add extra security, pop pills, and become a ticking timebomb all because of a spirit of Fear/Torment.
Gods Spirit, the Holy Spirit is the spirit of Truth. He seeks to bring us Peace and Comfort based on Truth.
Fear is so strong because it is rooted in imagination, and imagination is not Truth!
Instinct is an Innate Fear that alerts you. Dopamine is as Addictive Fear that draws you. Anxiety is a spiritual Fear that controls you.
So how do we combat the spirit of Fear? First, we must understand that Fear grows in a petri dish called Lies.
The greater the Fear, the greater the Lie. The only thing that can combat Fear is Truth. Not truth in the head, but truth in the heart.
Deception thrives in unanchored thoughts. What if…? What about…?
We must stop thinking and start knowing. You shall know the Truth!
One can only know the Truth in their Heart.
Psalm 51 declares that Truth must be in the innermost parts.
Truth is defined as faithfulness, sincerity, and ethical integrity. These characteristics need to be established and embedded into our heart.
The Heart is the battlefield; where all battles are fought, won, or lost.
We do what our heart tells us not our mind. THE OTHER BRAIN - WHO’S REALLY IN CONTROL HERE — Benton T. Thompson III
God did not give us a spirit of Fear. 2 Timothy 1:7
To inoculate ourselves from the spirit of Fear we must begin doing Heart exercises.
Everything that enters our Heart does so through one or more of these three passageways; Eyes, Ears, Mouth.
Begin guarding what you see, what you say, and what you listen to.
Take time to notate how you feel, this will tell you what spirit entered your Heart.
Peace isn’t found, it must be chosen, through what you ignore, what you release, and what you stop giving your time and energy to.
Next time I’ll share Fears cheat code with you.
